End of a Chapter...
It is with sadness that I post that this is the end of a chapter in the story of the Harritt Elementary Library Media Webage. Due to budget cuts in the district the position of Library Media Technology Teacher no longer exists. The library at Harritt will remain open and staffed with the help of an instructional assistant and volunteers. However, there will no longer be instruction in literacy skills or library skills as well as technology instruction from a certified librarian. This blog will remain open as a symbol of what was once taught at Harritt and what has been lost due to lack of funding for education.

Salem is located right off I-5, which is the major interstate that runs North and South 200 miles through Oregon. Salem is located between the cities of Portland to the North (48 miles) and Eugene to the South (68 miles). Salem is 59 miles West of the Pacific Ocean. The Willamette River (Oregon's largest and the nation's 12th largest in terms of volume, divides the city of Salem from West Salem. Salem is the State capitol of Oregon.
