It is with sadness that I post that this is the end of a chapter in the story of the Harritt Elementary Library Media Webage. Due to budget cuts in the district the position of Library Media Technology Teacher no longer exists. The library at Harritt will remain open and staffed with the help of an instructional assistant and volunteers. However, there will no longer be instruction in literacy skills or library skills as well as technology instruction from a certified librarian. This blog will remain open as a symbol of what was once taught at Harritt and what has been lost due to lack of funding for education.
Hello my name is Nonfiction. I am a apricot cookapoo who lives with Mrs. Wanek and will make a visit to school soon to help students learn what nonfiction is all about.

Welcome to Harritt
Welcome to the 2010-2011 Harritt Media Blog. I hope you will find that this is the place that you want to come back to regularly for info on what is going on in the Media Center. You will be able to find out what is going on in your child’s grade as far a as literacy/library/computer instruction. This blog can be a jumping off point for conversation in your home about books read, lessons learned, and activities done in the Library Media class. Hopefully, it will prove to be a resource for extended study with the many links provided, as well as, a point of reference for book suggestions and book reviews. I want to say that as we kick off this new school year I am filled with anticipation for all the fun things we are going to do on our journey in learning and all the great memories we will build together in Library Media. I hope each week when your child comes to the Library it will prove to be a fun part of their week and a time they look forward to with anticipation and excitement.
